The Klein Education Foundation’s Celebration Express rolled out to six schools and the Klein Instructional Center where community members, business partners and district staff surprised teachers with exciting news on Wednesday, May 4. The Education Foundation awarded teachers $33,801 through eight grants.
Teachers from Nitsch, Greenwood Forest, Krahn, Frank, Roth (2 grants), Klein Collins, and the Klein Instructional Center (to impact every campus) received grants. The grants will fund various projects including a bullying prevention video to train all campus personnel, an outdoor hands-on learning garden, and calculator technology allowing teachers to address a student’s lack of understanding immediately.
“The day could not have been better. The excitement on the teachers’ as well as the students’ faces when we came rumbling into their classes was just amazing,” Anne Vallette, director of the Klein Education Foundation, said. “Thank you to our wonderful business and community partners who donate so generously for these innovative classroom grants. We could not do all we do without them.”
